Disney AU Side Characters

These guys (gals, mostly) have been jumping around inside of my head for a while and I just had to get them out.

It's a shame about the line quality for the first three, though...

Anyway!

Desi (Drizella), aged sixteen, is goth/borderline punk. She's had a design since the very beginning, and putting her down on paper was by far the easiest. She really despises her stepsister Cindy, in whose care she now belongs, as indicated by the courts. She's intelligent, angry, and willing to take it out on anyone. But she's got a soft spot, it seems, for a certain blue-mohawked, completely oblivious boy (who she meets through the intervention of Chris, Cindy's Police Officer 'Guy-friend,' when Chris invites her to come with him to a community theater performance). But what she remains unaware of is the interest of someone else. A someone she tends to overlook, due to age and 'normalcy' levels. XD

Gwen (Wendy) is vivacious and friendly. She loves to act and to tell stories, but mostly wants to be a criminal justice lawyer when she grows up. Fourteen and full of determination, this little daisy will grow up to be a full-bloomed tiger-lily one day. But as for now she's caught up in her mixed up feelings for Pete, his relationship with the 'older woman' high school student, Tina, a blonde-haired vixen, and the shy crush she's starting to develop for a certain dark-haired, British exchange student named Ned (Edward. See, "Return to Neverland").

Freddy, "The Flounder," is Ari's young cousin, and truthfully he would do anything for the relative that he hero-worships. He's just shy of sixteen, and full of all the nerdy gawkiness of a boy about to become a man and just not realizing it yet. Additionally, Freddy is involved in his cousin's band, working the bass guitar and doing the vocals so that she doesn't have to do them (being forced into an Opera singing major by her domineering father).

Freddy is footloose and fancy free, but still coming into his own. He's also as oblivious as a brick, doesn't really notice the existence of girls yet, and works in community plays on the side. Pulling off both great characterization and brilliant sound tracks for each display. (His latest performance was as "Captain Hammer.")

Annie (Anastasia) is nothing like I imagined her. Originally I was going to portray her the way they do in Cinderella 2 and 3, as a being which was tugged to and fro by the whims and wills of her mother and sister. I was going to make her shy and feminine. Instead that design when to Gwen. But as I was drawing 'Annie' I realized that the stance still needed to be defensive, and that she had the gawky awkwardness of a girl not understanding what she could become.

So this version of Annie was created--switching from Anya to Annie without pause. And no red-head jokes, please. Her bangs became the bill of a baseball cap with ease, and soon I filled in the story.

Annie is a volleyball player. She actually doesn't really give a fig for Cindy one way or the other, and while she's definitely upset by her mother's incarceration, she has other things to worry about. Like her district volleyball championship (which if you doubt the legitimacy of that, just take my word that it's a big thing 'here,' in real life for my peers). Also, she's having difficult with the issue of switching schools, thereby forcing her to jump into foreign classes mid-semester, such as...home economics, and cultural dance.

And worst of all, she doesn't quite know how to respond to her cooking partner, a master baker if there ever was one. Particularly when he gets that look in his eye, or rubs the flour off of her nose (an excuse to draw closer to her, she doesn't realize). Maybe her stepsister, Cindy, knows why she keeps getting that weird utz in her stomach. After all, Cindy counts as an adult...right?
