A Halloween In Scarlet

Scarlet Pimpernel, is more like it!

Okay, okay, this is a cop-out on not being able to get my real intended Halloween picture done for them in time. But it will get finished eventually, and when it does...*evil laughter*

*clears throat* Anyway. This was drawn just after my roommate and I had gone to see the Scarlet Pimpernel at the Hale Center Theater in Salt Lake City, which is near where we live (sort of, anyway), and we were so impressed that by the time it ended I already had fanart bouncing around in my head for it.

Yep, it was that good. It even had a round-ish theater shape, with the stage coming up and down in the center to create a variety of different sets on a relatively small stage (like a carousel. And a guillotine, complete with prison beneath it, with attatching walkways. THAT was awesome. 8O ).

The best part, however, was a relatively tame scenario, in which Chauvelin (probably spelled his name wrong) is coming to harass Margarite in the garden, by singing "Where's the Girl." Now, I have the CD, so of course I was kind of anticipating the scene (it's my favorite song, next to "A Falcon in the Dive"), but when it came...

Good heavens, that man can sing. And by the end I was like, "Give in to him, Margarite! Forget the fop, and get together with the Emo!" XD XD XD

Man, that actor made me proud for my love of caustic characters. And it really was wonderful, in a "holy crap, I wish that was me down there."

So of course, it was a perfect moment of Synletness. Am I right?
